Preview: Bayern Munich vs. Borussia Dortmund

Sports Mole previews the German Cup meeting between league leaders Bayern Munich and Borussia Dortmund.

As it stands, the gap between Bundesliga leaders Bayern Munich and Borussia Dortmund in second spot is 17 points.

However, league matters will be put to one side when the two clubs meet at the Allianz Arena tomorrow night for what will be a DFB-Pokal quarter-final clash.

Favourites Bayern will have to make do without the services of France international Franck Ribery, who is suspended because he was sent off during the match against Augsburg in the last round.

His absence is likely to hand a starting opportunity to former Chelsea and Real Madrid winger Arjen Robben.

In contrast, visiting Dortmund should be at full strength for their trip to Bavaria. Robert Lewandowski is available following a one-game ban, while Jakub Blaszczykowski and Mats Hummels are fit despite injury scares.

The last time these sides met in this competition was in last year's final, where Dortmund ran out 5-2 winners. Current Manchester United midfielder Shinji Kagawa was among the scorers for Dortmund that evening.
