Benfica head coach Rui Vitoria praises players after thrashing Belenenses

Rui Vitoria hails his players following their 6-0 Primeira Liga win over Belenenses on Friday.

Benfica head coach Rui Vitoria has praised his players after their 6-0 demolition of Belenenses in the Primeira Liga.

Forwards Jonas and Konstantinos Mitroglou scored twice each against the Lisbon-based club while Nicolas Gaitan and Talisca added to the scoreline, and Vitoria was fully satisfied with the performance.

"We played really well tonight. I want to applaud my players because they did what was asked and showed great individual and collective quality on the pitch. We were strong in all aspects of the game," he told BTV.

Benfica are now top of the Primeira Liga, but have one game in hand over Porto, Sporting Lisbon and Arouca who all have a chance to overtake the league champions this weekend.
