Wolverhampton Wanderers produce a remarkable opening 45 minutes to lead Birmingham City 3-0 at St Andrew's.

Sylvan Ebanks-Blake scores twice as Wolverhampton Wanderers surge into a three-goal lead against Birmingham City at St Andrew's.

The home team began the better of the two sides, but it was Wolves who took the lead on 20 minutes after Stephen Hunt reacted fastest when Jack Butland could only push away a shot from David Davis.

Seven minutes later, the away side doubled their advantage when Ebanks-Blake got in front of the Birmingham defence to head the ball past Butland.

Birmingham were stunned, but they almost halved the deficit on 31 minutes when Shane Ferguson struck the post with a free kick.

However, Wolves continued to press on and won a penalty when Butland fouled Kevin Doyle. Ebanks-Blake stepped up to take the spot kick and made no mistake from 12 yards.
