Nathan Redmond put the visitors ahead in the 24th minute with his low strike before Damien Delaney headed into his own net soon after to give City a 2-0 advantage at half time.

Ravel Morrison added to his side's tally on 64 minutes when he pounced in the area with his first-time finish.

The victory was sealed moments later as loanee Shane Ferguson curled in a free kick past Julian Speroni.

Birmingham have moved to within seven points of the playoff places with the win, while Palace remain in fourth place.
