Preview: Bournemouth vs. Birmingham City

Sports Mole previews the Championship meeting between Bournemouth and Birmingham at the Goldsands Stadium on Saturday.

Birmingham City go into Saturday's Championship match against Bournemouth having not lost since the start of November.

The Blues are on a five-match unbeaten streak that has seen them pick up nine points from the last 15 available having only won one point from the previous 12 up for grabs.

Despite their improved form, Lee Clark's side are still just four points clear of the relegation zone and could find themselves 21st in the Championship table at the end of play, should results go against them.

They scored in stoppage time of the second half to rescue a 2-2 draw with Middlesbrough in their last outing, although defender Mitchell Hancox suffered a knee injury in that match and is unlikely to feature on Saturday.

The Midlands outfit have been impressive away from home recently, going three matches unbeaten and winning their last two, scoring six goals and conceding just one.

Bournemouth, meanwhile, shocked Reading last weekend with an valuable 2-1 win over the Royals that ended a seven-match winless streak.

They currently sit 16th in the Championship table and could move nine points clear of the relegation zone with a second consecutive win on Saturday.

To do that, Eddie Howe's side will need to end a poor run of form at the Goldsands Stadium, where they have won just one of their last five games.
