Blackburn Rovers caretaker manager Gary Bowyer has admitted that his side were fortunate to beat Derby County in the Championship on Saturday.
Jordan Rhodes and Scott Dann struck at the beginning and the end of the first half respectively to earn Rovers a 2-0 win that moved them out of the relegation zone.
However, Bowyer feels that while they deserved the win, there was a hint of luck in their favour.
"We did that through our hard work and desire today, you saw how much it meant," said Bowyer. "We've had a tough week, we've had that siege mentality and in the end we probably just deserved it.
"I thought everyone was magnificent today, I believe the harder you work the luckier you get and we've had a bit of a rub of the green today at Derby. We can go to the game on Tuesday in confidence, one down five to go, it is in our hands, we'll take it game by game.
"The players are realistic, they know that they'll have to recover quickly because we have a hugely important game on Tuesday. It will take a massive effort from everybody, we've got to make sure that we'll all stick together and keep going game by game."
