Steve Kean confirms that Michel Salgado is free to leave Blackburn Rovers next month.

Spanish full-back Michel Salgado will be allowed to leave Blackburn Rovers during the January transfer window.

The former Real Madrid defender has fallen out of favour with manager Steve Kean in recent weeks.

"Michel won't be here next season," Kean told reporters. "If there is an opportunity for him to find another solution in this window that is something we would look at."

The 36-year-old joined Rovers in 2009 following his release from Madrid.
