Half-Time Report: Blackpool trailing in Lee Clark's first match in charge

David McGoldrick puts Ipswich Town 1-0 up against Blackpool in Lee Clark's first half in charge of the Championship strugglers.

Lee Clark finds himself a goal down at half time in his first match in charge of Blackpool, with David McGoldrick putting Ipswich Town in front at the break.

The in-form Tractor Boys almost opened the scoring in the seventh minute when Stephen Hunt crashed a free kick against the crossbar, beating Joe Lewis but not the woodwork.

The Championship's bottom club managed to apply some pressure in the first period, with Ishmael Miller going on a mazy run in the 16th minute before lining up Nile Ranger, whose poor first touch saw the move break down.

Blackpool fell behind in the 26th minute when McGoldrick found himself in the right place at the right time to guide the ball home from six yards following a goalmouth scramble.

The Blackpool players appealed for offside, but the referee waved away their protests and allowed the goal to stand, leaving the Seasiders in a familiar position - trailing at the break - despite a change of manager.
