Half-Time Report: Blackpool, Burnley yet to break deadlock

Blackpool and Burnley sit goalless at the half-time interval of their Championship clash on Good Friday.

Blackpool and Burnley currently share a point in their Championship clash following a goalless first half at Bloomfield Road.

Burnley need to win the match and hope that Derby County fail to beat Doncaster Rovers tonight in order to gain promotion to the Premier League.

The visitors had an early chance to get on the scoresheet when Michael Kightly latched on to a weak back pass from Jack Robinson, but his effort produced a save from Matt Gilks.

Minutes later, David Goodwillie had two opportunities to give Blackpool the lead when he launched a header towards goal, but it bounced off Kieran Trippier and back into the path of the Scotsman.

He then unleashed a shot 20 yards from goal, but it sailed over the bar, leaving the game goalless after 20 minutes of play.

At the other end, Danny Ings scuffed his effort at goal as it fell towards the Blackpool goalkeeper, but the forward had another chance minutes later. He fired a low shot towards the net after taking a touch, but Gilks once again managed to gather.
