Bologna have earned a vital win in their battle against relegation thanks to a 1-0 home victory over Genoa in Serie A.

The triumph has seen Stefano Pioli's side move one point clear of the relegation zone following a winless run of six matches.

The only goal of the game came in the 57th minute as Alessandro Diamanti showed quick feet to fire into the bottom corner.

While Bologna have climbed up the standings, Genoa remain in ninth place after a second defeat in three matches.
