Eddie Howe: 'Declan Rudd should have been sent off'

Bournemouth manager Eddie Howe insists that Norwich City keeper Declan Rudd should have seen red for a challenge on Benik Afobe.

Bournemouth manager Eddie Howe has insisted that Norwich City keeper Declan Rudd should have seen red for a challenge on Benik Afobe at Dean Court this afternoon.

The Cherries eased past their relegation rivals 3-0, including a first goal from new signing Afobe, but Howe was left unimpressed with the yellow card awarded to Rudd for a first-half foul on the striker.

"I thought it was a red card. You can argue whether it was a goalscoring opportunity, but he caught Benik high and he was fortunate to escape injury," he told BBC Sport.

"Benik played very well again, he works incredibly hard for the team, he looks razor sharp and capped it off with a really good finish for his goal."

The win helped Howe's side to leapfrog their opponents to 15th in the Premier League table, five points clear of safety.
