Brighton and Reading play out a 1-1 draw in Michel Kuipers's testimonial.

Brighton & Hove Albion have drawn 1-1 with Reading in Michel Kuipers's testimonial at the Amex Stadium after a late equaliser from the visitors.

Kuipers wore number 287, which was the number of appearances he made for Brighton, and started in goal before being substituted after 15 minutes.

Pavel Pogrebnyak almost opened the scoring early on but the hero of the night Kuipers made a great save to deny him.

After some good spells of Brighton pressure Alex Pearce brought down Ashley Barnes in the box and Vicente made no mistake from the spot on 33 minutes.

The second half was a somewhat cagey affair, with both sides looking good in possession but there were not more than a few half-chances until the last minute of the game, when Hal Robson-Kanu headed home a Gareth McCleary cross to level the score at 1-1.
