Saturday's Championship predictions including West Brom vs. Norwich

Sports Mole provides score predictions and previews for all of today's Championship fixtures, including West Brom vs. Norwich.

Bristol City vs. Burnley (Saturday, 3.00pm)

Champions Burnley make the trip to Ashton Gate to face Bristol City looking for the win which will keep the club on course to reach 100 points in the Championship this season.

Meanwhile, Bristol City, who are down in 14th position in the Championship standings, are looking to build on ending a three-game winless streak last time out.

We say: Bristol City 1-1 Burnley

Despite being crowned champions in midweek, Burnley remain motivated to reach three figures. However, few teams have gotten the better of Bristol City at their home ground of late, leading us to predict a competitive draw being played out at Ashton Gate.

Our tipster partners are predicting under 3.5 goals.

Coventry vs. Birmingham (Saturday, 3.00pm)

Coventry City could secure a place in the playoffs when they take on Birmingham City at the Coventry Building Society Arena in the Championship on Saturday afternoon.

The Sky Blues extended their unbeaten run with a win over Reading last time out, while Birmingham were unable to get anything out of their encounter with Blackpool.

We say: Coventry City 1-1 Birmingham City

Coventry go into their final two matches of the regular season knowing their playoff fate is in their own hands - something that seemed very unlikely during their abysmal run of form in January.

Birmingham have little to play for but will be followed by nearly 5,000 Bluenoses at the CBS Arena, and Eustace will make sure his men put on a good display for those travelling from the Second City.

Our tipster partners are predicting under 3.5 goals.

Hull City vs. Swansea (Saturday, 3.00pm)

Swansea City make the long trip to Hull City on Saturday knowing that they require three points to retain any hope of earning a Championship playoff spot.

Although the Welsh side are down in 12th position in the standings, they are just three points adrift of sixth, while Hull trail the visitors by six points.

We say: Hull City 1-2 Swansea City

With both teams in form, this should prove to be a competitive fixture, particularly with the pressure off Hull. Nevertheless, we cannot back against Swansea, who are motivated to retain their current tag of the best-performing side in the division.

Our tipster partners are predicting under 3.5 goals.

Reading vs. Wigan (Saturday, 3.00pm)

Reading will be aiming to give their survival aims a massive boost on Saturday afternoon when they host bottom side Wigan Athletic at the Select Car Leasing Stadium in the Championship.

The Royals have not tasted victory since February and look set for relegation to League One, whilst Wigan know defeat in Berkshire would confirm their place in the third tier next season.

We say: Reading 1-1 Wigan Athletic

Reading have failed to experience a significant upturn in form following the sacking of Paul Ince, with a difficult fixture run of late making life very challenging for new boss Hunt.

Wigan face another do-or-die situation in Berkshire on Saturday afternoon, and we feel they will only manage a point on their travels as their short spell in the Championship comes to an end.

Our tipster partners are predicting under 3.5 goals.

Sheff Utd vs. Preston (Saturday, 3.00pm)

Sheffield United will mark their promotion earlier this week with another home Championship fixture against Preston North End on Saturday afternoon.

At a time when the Blades are already assured of a top-two spot, Preston are 10th in the standings and realistically require all three points to maintain a playoff push.

We say: Sheffield United 2-1 Preston North End

Realistically, Sheffield United's preparations will not be of the highest standard for this contest given the celebrations on Wednesday. Nevertheless, they will still want to put on a show for their fans, and we expect the Blades to edge out their faltering opponents.

Our tipster partners are predicting under 3.5 goals.

Stoke vs. QPR (Saturday, 3.00pm)

Queens Park Rangers travel to the bet365 Stadium to face an out-of-form Stoke City side on Saturday afternoon knowing a victory would secure their place in the Championship for another season.

The R's have produced some notable away displays of late to distance themselves from the bottom three, whilst Stoke will be hoping they can be crowned as the best of the bottom half this term.

We say: Stoke City 1-2 Queens Park Rangers

Stoke have allowed their season to fizzle out over the last few games and now face a tough assignment against a QPR side full of talent despite their league standing.

The R's have earned notable results at West Bromwich Albion and Burnley during their last two away matches, and we believe their travelling fans will have another success to celebrate on Saturday.

Our tipster partners are predicting under 3.5 goals.

Sunderland vs. Watford (Saturday, 3.00pm)

Sunderland manager Tony Mowbray on April 18, 2023© Reuters

Sunderland play host to Watford on Saturday afternoon knowing that victory will put the club on the brink of a Championship playoff spot.

Meanwhile, Watford travel to the Stadium of Light already out of the running after losing four of their most recent six fixtures.

We say: Sunderland 2-0 Watford

With nothing to play for, Watford may be capable of producing one of their better recent performances. However, we can only back Sunderland to prevail from this fixture, building on an unbeaten run which has given them a chance of a return to the Premier League.

Our tipster partners are predicting under 3.5 goals.

West Brom vs. Norwich (Saturday, 5.30pm)

West Bromwich Albion will be looking to keep their promotion dreams alive on Saturday evening when they welcome an out-of-form Norwich City to The Hawthorns in the Championship.

The Baggies failed to earn any points in the last two games meaning their top-six destiny is out of their hands, while Norwich supporters are cautiously preparing for another season in the Championship.

We say: West Bromwich Albion 1-0 Norwich City

West Brom have squandered two chances to keep their playoff fate in their own hands after defeats to Sunderland and Sheffield United, but a wounded Norwich side visiting The Hawthorns presents a good opportunity to get back to winning ways.

The Canaries were left feeling deflated after their humbling loss to Swansea last time out, and we expect them to be unable to get anything out of a trip to the Black Country on Saturday evening.

Our tipster partners are predicting under 3.5 goals.
