Cardiff City boss Malky Mackay dismisses speculation linking him with the managerial vacancy at Norwich City.

Malky Mackay has played down speculation linking him with the managerial vacancy at Norwich City by insisting that he is committed to Cardiff City.

Many bookmakers have installed the former Norwich defender as the favourite to fill the void left by Paul Lambert at Carrow Road.

Despite admitting that he is "flattered" by the reports, the Scottish boss has revealed that he is eager to continue the ongoing project at the Cardiff City Stadium.

"I'm very flattered to be linked with Norwich as it's a club close to my heart from my playing days there," he told Sky Sports News. "I have very good friends within the club and greatly respect Delia Smith and her fellow majority shareholder Michael Wynn Jones.

"Norwich are moving in the right direction but I want to finish the exciting project I've started at Cardiff where we've a structure in place geared to long-term success.

"I've a great relationship with our chief executive Alan Whiteley and the club's owner Vincent Tan is committed to major investment in Cardiff, more of which will become apparent later this week. I too am fully committed to our football club and I'm ready for the challenges ahead."

The 40-year-old has been in charge of the Bluebirds since June 2011.
