Charlton Athletic interim manager Karel Fraeye: Defeat "hard to take"

Karel Fraeye brands Charlton Athletic's loss to Brighton & Hove Albion "hard to take", after his side conceded three second-half goals in a 3-2 loss.

Charlton Athletic interim manager Karel Fraeye has described his team's loss to Brighton & Hove Albion as "hard to take".

The Addicks led 2-0 at the interval but could have been further ahead having created a slew of chances which were all saved by Brighton keeper David Stockdale.

The second half saw Chris Hughton's side net three times to take all three points, leaving Fraeye despairing at his side's loss.

"It is very hard to take. We played very well in the first half, everything was in order and the performance was good, and Brighton were lucky to go in only 2-0 down," Fraeye told the club's official website.

"Had we scored again the game would have been over at half time. We knew that they would press us in the first 15 minutes of the second half. You try to get through that but we couldn't and we conceded a goal.

"They won some confidence and once we conceded the red card then you know that away from home and with a great crowd behind them that it would be tough. I thought we defended well on the whole after that, and we are really unlucky to go home with nothing."

Fraeye's outfit lie in 22nd position in the Championship table following the defeat.
