Guy Luzon: "Charlton deserved at least a point"

Charlton Athletic manager Guy Luzon says that his side deserved something from the game after Adam le Fondre's late winner consigned the Addicks to defeat at Wolves.

Charlton Athletic manager Guy Luzon says that his side deserved something from the game after Adam le Fondre's late winner ended the Addicks' unbeaten start to the season with a 2-1 defeat to Wolverhampton Wanderers at Molineux.

Johann Berg Gudmundsson's opener for the visitors was cancelled out by Wolves captain Dave Edwards before Le Fondre struck five minutes from time to seal victory for the home side.

Luzon told Charlton's official website that he was pleased with his side's display, but bemoaned their bad luck in failing to close out a point.

"I'm pleased with our performance," he said. "We played well in the second half, scored a goal and then after then we had a great chance to finish the game.

"Of course, I'm disappointed because my players played well, with and without the ball. They gave everything and it isn't appropriate that we're going to go home with zero points. We deserved at least one point.

"We need to continue; this is another step and I can say that I am pleased with our performances over the last five games. We have shown a lot of quality and if we continue like that then it will be difficult for teams to beat us."

Charlton had not lost any of their first six games in all competitions before today's defeat.
