Chelsea forward Fernando Torres has revealed that manager Roberto Di Matteo denied him the opportunity to take a penalty in last night's Champions League final shootout.
The Blues were crowned champions of Europe for the first time in their history after Juan Mata missed but David Luiz, Frank Lampard, Ashley Cole and Didier Drogba all converted from 12 yards to seal a 4-3 win against Bayern Munich in Bavaria.
Torres, who was introduced as a second-half substitute, claims that he also volunteered to take a spot-kick.
The 28-year-old Spaniard told guillembalague.com: "I wanted to take a penalty but they didn't let me."
Chelsea celebrated their triumph with an open-top bus parade around London earlier today.
