Sports Mole takes an in-depth look at how Real Madrid could line up for Tuesday's Champions League quarter-final second leg with Chelsea.

Real Madrid will be forced into a defensive alteration for Tuesday's Champions League quarter-final second leg with Chelsea at the Bernabeu.

Carlo Ancelotti's side won 3-1 in the first leg but also witnessed Eder Militao pick up his third booking of the tournament, and the centre-back will serve his one-match suspension this week.

Former Chelsea man Eden Hazard remains on the sidelines alongside Isco, while Jesus Vallejo has tested positive for COVID-19, but Luka Jovic is back in the squad after recovering from an ankle injury.

David Alaba ought to be partnered by Nacho Fernandez as Militao watches on from the sidelines, with Thibaut Courtois returning to home comforts after his frosty reception at Stamford Bridge.

Lucas Vazquez was on target for Los Blancos against Getafe at the weekend but should make way for Dani Carvajal this week, as a well-rested Ferland Mendy displaces Marcelo on the opposite side.

Toni Kroos and Luka Modric were both rested entirely at the weekend and are primed to return to the first XI alongside Casemiro, with Eduardo Camavinga certain to make way.

Federico Valverde did a sterling job in the first leg at Stamford Bridge, but having also played the full 90 at the weekend, his jellied legs may be spared for the upcoming La Liga battle with Sevilla.

One further change in attack could see Marco Asensio return in place of Rodrygo alongside Vinicius Junior and Karim Benzema, whose first-leg hat-trick saw him set a new record for the most goals by a French player in a single Champions League campaign with 11.

Real Madrid possible starting lineup: Courtois; Carvajal, Nacho, Alaba, Mendy; Kroos, Casemiro, Modric; Asensio, Benzema, Vinicius Jr
