Tuesday's Chelsea transfer talk news roundup: Kai Havertz, Hakim Ziyech, Mike Maignan

Here, Sports Mole rounds up the latest transfer talk for Chelsea on Tuesday, August 25.

The summer transfer window has now begun, with rumours and speculation continuing to swirl as Chelsea eye possible reinforcements.

The Blues failed to bring in a single player during the January window, despite seeing their transfer ban cut short by FIFA, but have already been busy this summer.

Here, Sports Mole rounds up the latest news on possible comings and goings from Stamford Bridge.

Tuesday morning's Chelsea transfer talk news roundup:

Germany international Kai Havertz is reportedly set to put pen to paper on a £130,000-a-week deal at Chelsea ahead of his proposed move from Bayer Leverkusen.

The highly-rated attacker is allegedly on the brink of completing his switch from the Bundesliga to Stamford Bridge in a deal worth up to £90m.

The 21-year-old will link up with fellow new arrivals Hakim Ziyech and Timo Werner ahead of the 2020-21 campaign, and Havertz can reportedly look forward to pocketing a lucrative salary on the blue side of London.

According to the Daily Mail, Havertz is set to agree a five-year deal worth £130,000 per week at Stamford Bridge, and his wage will go up if he meets various performance-related targets.

The Blues are also believed to be closing in on a deal for former Paris Saint-Germain captain Thiago Silva, while Leicester City left-back Ben Chilwell is supposedly inching closer towards a move to Stamford Bridge.

Chelsea are close to sealing the £90m signing of Bayer Leverkusen star Kai Havertz, according to a report.

The Blues are eager to add the Germany international to their new-look frontline for next season, having already brought in Hakim Ziyech and Timo Werner.

After weeks of negotiations, Sky Sports News claims that an agreement is now expected to be reached between Leverkusen and Chelsea.

Chelsea will make Havertz their most expensive ever signing, it is suggested, surpassing the £72m paid to sign Kepa Arrizabalaga from Athletic Bilbao two years ago.

The 21-year-old has spent his entire career to date at BayArena, scoring 36 goals and assisting 25 more in 118 Bundesliga appearances for the club.

Frank Lampard's side are also believed to be hopeful of bringing in left-back Ben Chilwell from Leicester City before the window closes.
