Chelsea midfielder Frank Lampard has admitted that he is pleased to be back among the England squad after missing Euro 2012 through injury.
The 34-year-old, who will skipper the Three Lions against Italy on Wednesday, has also praised the "desire and character in the team".
"I just had to take it on the chin, but I supported the lads throughout and I thought there were a lot of positives. I thought there was a lot of desire and character in the team and the way they held themselves. I'm just pleased to be back and part of it," he told reporters.
Lampard has 90 international caps to his name.
