Chelsea team news: Injury, suspension list vs. Bournemouth

Sports Mole rounds up Chelsea's latest injury and suspension news ahead of Saturday's Premier League meeting with Bournemouth.

Chelsea must quickly respond to their midweek defeat at the hands of Bayern Munich if they are to hold off the chasing pack in the battle for a top-four finish in the Premier League, with a trip to Bournemouth up next.

The Blues fell to a heavy 3-0 loss in the first leg of their Champions League last-16 tie on Tuesday, leaving them with a huge mountain to climb in next month's reverse fixture.

Frank Lampard's men did win their most recent league game, however, with last weekend's 2-1 win over Tottenham Hotspur giving them a three-point gap on Manchester United in fifth.

Here, Sports Mole rounds up Chelsea's latest injury and suspension news ahead of Saturday's clash with Bournemouth.

N'Golo Kante

Status: Out
Type of injury: Adductor
Possible return date: March 14 (vs. Aston Villa)

N'Golo Kante was withdrawn during the early stages of the 2-0 loss to Manchester United on February 17 and Lampard revealed that the midfielder had sustained an adductor injury. It is an issue which is likely to keep the Frenchman out for three weeks.

Callum Hudson-Odoi

Status: Major doubt
Type of injury: Hamstring
Possible return date: February 29 (vs. Bournemouth)

Callum Hudson-Odoi has missed Chelsea's last three matches due to a hamstring injury sustained in training. The academy graduate may have to wait a little while longer before coming back into contention.

Christian Pulisic

Status: Major doubt
Type of injury: Adductor
Possible return date: February 29 (vs. Bournemouth)

Although Christian Pulisic was initially due to return after the winter break, Lampard revealed last week that the winger was still out of contention. As it stands, it appears highly unlikely that the American will play any part in this weekend's game.

Tammy Abraham

Status: Minor doubt
Type of injury: Hamstring
Possible return date: February 29 (vs. Bournemouth)

Tammy Abraham has been eased back into action in Chelsea's last two matches following a spell on the sidelines. However, he appeared to pull up during the warm-down on Tuesday and could be facing more time out.

Ruben Loftus-Cheek

Status: Minor doubt
Type of injury: Achilles
Possible return date: February 29 (vs. Bournemouth)

Ruben Loftus-Cheek was an unused substitute against Tottenham but was left out of the squad to face Bayern. It is unknown whether he is still carrying an injury that saw him miss 10 months of action.

CHELSEA'S SUSPENSION LIST

Chelsea have no players who are suspended for this fixture.
