Antonio Conte says that the hamstring injury sustained by Gary Cahill in the first half of Chelsea's goalless draw with Leicester City 'is nothing serious'.

Chelsea manager Antonio Conte has revealed that the injury sustained by skipper Gary Cahill in Saturday's goalless draw with Leicester City 'is nothing serious'.

The England international returned to the starting lineup for the Blues' latest stalemate, lasting just 33 minutes before pulling up and being replaced by Andreas Christensen.

There had been fears that Cahill may be facing a spell on the sidelines, but Conte has played down those concerns and reiterated that fatigue was a big factor behind his side's fourth successive draw.

"I think he is with the doctor now, but it's OK, I do not think it was serious," he told BBC Sport. "I think we played with a lot of top players against Arsenal, and then again today against a very good team. I think a lot of our players were tired.

"In the first half Leicester ran more than us, they played better than us, but we knew we were playing against a good opponent, maybe the worst opponent we could have played in this moment. We suffered a lot in the first half."

The Blues face the prospect of playing 20 games in 75 days, with an FA Cup third-round replay against Norwich City next up.
