Watford's loanee defender Nathaniel Chalobah is hoping that he can return to parent club Chelsea next season.

Nathaniel Chalobah has revealed that he would like to be a part of Chelsea's senior squad next season.

The 18-year-old has spent the entire campaign on loan with Watford and has played a key role in the club's rise to the automatic promotion places in the Championship.

Reflecting on his form, the England youth international has revealed his hope that he has done enough to convince the coaching staff at Chelsea that he is worth a place in the squad.

"Next season I want to have some sort of a role [at Chelsea]." he is quoted as saying by the London Evening Standard. "Hopefully my performances at Watford will show that I'm ready or I can go in there and at least battle for a position in the team.

"It's down to confidence within myself, belief and showing hunger when I go back to Chelsea to try and get in the squad."

Chalobah has made 28 appearances this season, scoring four goals in the process.
