Kenny Dalglish thinks that there is a "huge respect" for Andre Villas-Boas amid speculation that the Chelsea boss could face the sack.

Liverpool boss Kenny Dalglish refutes suggestions that Andre Villas-Boas's time as Chelsea manager is ticking.

The ex-Porto coach's job has reportedly come under threat after the Blues' fourth defeat of the season at the hands of Liverpool at Stamford Bridge yesterday.

"No-one in the football profession will be questioning him," said Dalglish. "I don't know the lad, but he had a fantastic CV at Porto.

"I don't know what the criticism will be, but there's huge respect for him in the football profession."

The two sides meet again next Tuesday in London for the Carling Cup quarter-final.
