Kenny Dalglish was pleased with the way his side performed at Stamford Bridge this afternoon.

Manager Kenny Dalglish has described Liverpool's 2-1 victory at Chelsea this afternoon as a "good day" for the club.

The Reds won the same fixture at Stamford Bridge last season, a performance which many suggested was Liverpool's best of that campaign.

Dalglish, though, believes that today's showing was even better.

"What we wanted today was to have the same belief and positivity as last year," the Scot told Sky Sports News. "I think we surpassed that.

"I think they were better this year than last year.

"I was pleased with the way that they played and it was a good day for Liverpool football club."

Dalglish has never lost as a manager at Stamford Bridge.
