Mark Hughes: 'Jose Mourinho won't be fazed by pressure'

Stoke City manager Mark Hughes insists that Jose Mourinho will not be fazed by the pressure surrounding his position at Chelsea.

Stoke City boss Mark Hughes has insisted that Jose Mourinho will be used to dealing with the pressure that comes hand in hand with managing a big club.

Mourinho has seen his Chelsea side lose six of their opening 11 Premier League fixtures, leading to speculation that he may be removed from the dugout at Stamford Bridge.

However, Hughes, who spent three years of his playing career in West London, has backed the Portuguese to come through his recent rough spell.

The 52-year-old told reporters: "He's dealt with pressure everywhere he's been. He's been at top clubs with the focus dominated on him and the clubs he has been part of. It's not something that he is going to be fazed by.

"Maybe it's a different type of pressure he is experiencing now because there hasn't been too many occasions his league form and position in the league have been questioned."

Mourinho will serve a one-match stadium ban when Stoke host Chelsea at the Britannia Stadium on Saturday evening.
