Jamie Redknapp makes Victor Moses gaffe

Former England midfielder Jamie Redknapp is left red-faced after branding Nigeria's Victor Moses 'English' during Chelsea's 2-0 win over Southampton.

Former England midfielder Jamie Redknapp has been left red-faced after commenting on Victor Moses's performance for Chelsea in the London club's Premier League clash with Southampton on Sunday afternoon.

Sky Sports News pundit Redknapp, speaking at the interval of Chelsea's 2-0 win over Southampton, said that it was "good to see young English talent getting a chance" in reference to Moses.

The 25-year-old attacker, however, was born in Nigeria and has indeed represented the African nation on 24 occasions since 2012 - scoring seven times in the process and turning out at the 2014 World Cup.

Moses, who moved to London at the age of 11, has spent time on loan with Liverpool, Stoke City and West Ham United in recent seasons, but has been in the plans of new Blues boss Antonio Conte at the start of the 2016-17 campaign.
