Jose Mourinho happy with Kevin de Bruyne selection

Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho insists that he is happy that midfielder Kevin de Bruyne has been selected by Belgium for their upcoming World Cup qualifiers.

Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho has insisted that the selection for international squads is a lot different to that at club level.

Midfielder Kevin de Bruyne has been selected by Belgium, despite being frozen out by Mourinho at Stamford Bridge, but the Portuguese coach is pleased that the former Werder Bremen man will get some match fitness under his belt.

The 50-year-old told reporters: "I'm happy that Kevin has been selected because he has two matches to play.

"With us, it's a bit different, because he's from a pitch area that we have a lot of talent, and sometimes, we need some stability.

"They need to understand that at this level, the competition is hard."

De Bruyne has not featured for Chelsea since Mourinho was critical of his performance in the Capital One Cup against Swindon Town last month.
