Real Madrid reportedly consider Rafael Benitez and Michael Laudrup as possible replacements if Jose Mourinho leaves the Bernabeu this summer.

Real Madrid have reportedly made contact with Chelsea interim manager Rafael Benitez and Swansea City boss Michael Laudrup over possibly taking the reins at the Bernabeu if Jose Mourinho leaves in the summer.

The Spanish giants are thought to be looking for a new leader due to widespread reports that Mourinho will return to Chelsea to replace the outgoing Benitez.

Spanish journalist Guillem Balague wrote on Sulia claiming that if Madrid fail to capture Carlo Ancelotti from Paris Saint-Germain, Benitez and Laudrup are possible contenders. However, Laudrup is expected to remain at the Liberty Stadium.

Benitez's credentials have increased since he guided Chelsea to Europa League glory in the final against Benfica last night.
