Thomas Tuchel equals Rafael Benitez's clean sheet record at Chelsea

Thomas Tuchel earns his first win as Chelsea manager after beating Burnley 2-0 at Stamford Bridge on Sunday.

Chelsea secured their first victory under new boss Thomas Tuchel as they beat Burnley 2-0 at Stamford Bridge on Sunday.

Cesar Azpilicueta opened the scoring on the stroke of half time with a brilliant finish, before Marcos Alonso, who started the match ahead of Ben Chilwell, secured the German his first win as Blues manager.

Chelsea registered a second successive clean sheet under Tuchel, whose first game in charge was a drab goalless draw at home to Wolverhampton Wanderers last Wednesday.

Tuchel became the first Chelsea manager to keep a clean sheet in both of his first two Premier League matches since former boss Rafael Benitez did back in 2012.

The Blues also won their first league match at Stamford Bridge in 2021 after ending a run of three matches without a win, which saw them lose to Manchester City and draw with Aston Villa before the stalemate with Wolves.

Chelsea now turn their attention to their next league encounter which sees them travel to rivals Tottenham Hotspur on Thursday.
