Sunday's Premier League predictions including Everton vs. Liverpool

Sports Mole provides score predictions for all of Sunday's Premier League action, including the Merseyside derby between Everton and Liverpool.

Newcastle vs. Sheff Utd (Sunday, 2.00pm)

Newcastle United welcome Sheffield United to St James' Park on Sunday for what will be the Magpies' first Premier League match since March 7.

Steve Bruce's side go into the weekend sitting 13th in the table, while Sheffield United are sixth and pushing for European qualification following their goalless draw with Aston Villa in the first top-flight game back after lockdown.

We say: Newcastle 0-1 Sheffield United

Not much seemed to have changed for Sheffield United upon their return, which will come as good news in their bid to qualify for Europe. They remain organised and difficult to break down, and it was only a technological error which denied them victory.

Wilder's side have that 90 minutes under their belt which could give them a further advantage over Newcastle and, considering the Magpies' scoring record and Sheffield United's defensive record, we can see a low-scoring away win here.

Aston Villa vs. Chelsea (Sunday, 4.15pm)

Chelsea return to Premier League action for the first time in three-and-a-half months on Sunday when they take on relegation-threatened Aston Villa.

Frank Lampard's side resume their campaign in fourth place, whereas Villa still sit 19th in the table following their goalless draw with Sheffield United on Wednesday.

We say: Aston Villa 1-3 Chelsea

Both of these teams need a win for very different reasons and, while Aston Villa have a game already under their belts, we are expecting Chelsea to be sharp enough to inflict another dent in the hosts' survival hopes.

Everton vs. Liverpool (Sunday, 7.00pm)

Liverpool finally have the chance to recommence their Premier League title charge on Sunday when they make the short trip across Stanley Park to take on Everton in the 287th Merseyside derby.

The Reds arrive at Goodison Park with a 22-point lead at the top of the table and knowing that just two more wins will be enough to wrap up a first top-flight crown since 1990.

We say: Everton 0-2 Liverpool

It will be interesting to see whether Liverpool are able to be quite as dominant after the break as they were before it, but they are Everton's bogey team and Klopp will not mind having a derby as the first game back.

Everton have improved under Ancelotti, but with the game being played behind closed doors, and considering the hosts' woeful derby record, we are backing the champions-elect to edge ever closer to the title.
