Fabio Capello tells Italian state television that he does not agree with the FA's decision to strip John Terry of the captain's armband.

Fabio Capello has reportedly claimed that he does not agree with the Football Association's decision to strip John Terry of the captain's armband.

FA chairman David Bernstein, who did not consult Capello, called the Chelsea defender on Friday to inform him of the board's decision.

Terry will stand trial after Euro 2012 over claims that he racially abused Anton Ferdinand during a match against Queens Park Rangers in October. Terry denies the charges.

"I completely disagree with the FA about the John Terry decision. I have told that to the chairman," Capello is quoted as saying by Italian state television.

"I considered and still consider Terry the England captain. I think we first should wait for the trial conclusion.

"It cannot be sanctioned until it is properly judged by competent bodies."

England next take on the Netherlands in a friendly at Wembley on Wednesday, February 29.
