John Terry will not take questions about the Anton Ferdinand race row when he talks to the press later today.

John Terry is reportedly not permitted to speak about the Anton Ferdinand race row when he takes questions from the press today.

The Chelsea captain is scheduled to take part in an England press conference later today, but FA officials will be on hand to divert questions regarding allegations that he racially abused Queens Park Rangers defender Anton Ferdinand, according to The Sun.

Terry is also not allowed to talk about the reception he expects from fans when he leads the team against Sweden on Tuesday.

Terry started on the bench during England's 1-0 victory over Spain on Saturday, but he is in line to start alongside Gary Cahill in defence for the next friendly at Wembley.

Everton defender Phil Jagielka has been ruled out of the clash with a broken toe.
