Team News: Eden Hazard misses out for Chelsea against Aston Villa

Eden Hazard is left on the bench for Chelsea as they welcome Aston Villa to Stamford Bridge.

Eden Hazard has been left on the bench for Chelsea as they welcome Aston Villa to Stamford Bridge.

The Belgium international is not the only one to make way, as Gary Cahill and Nemanja Matic also drop to the bench.

Diego Costa is among those to come back into the first-team fold following his recent suspension, while Ruben Loftus-Cheek is handed a first league start of the season in midfield.

A knock picked up by Branislav Ivanovic means that Baba Rahman comes in at left-back, with Cesar Azpilicueta expected to start on the opposite flank at Stamford Bridge.

Tim Sherwood has also opted to ring the changes, having seen his side pick up just one point since the opening day of the campaign.

Four new faces are brought in, as Kieran Richardson, Jack Grealish, Jordan Ayew and Carlos Gil are all welcomed back.

Chelsea: Begovic; Rahman, Terry, Zouma, Azpilicueta; Loftus-Cheek, Ramires; Willian, Fabregas, Pedro; Diego Costa

Aston Villa: Guzan; Hutton, Richards, Lescott, Richardson; Gil, Gueye, Westwood, Grealish, Ayew; Gestede
