Andre Villas-Boas selects Brad Friedel over Hugo Lloris in goal for Tottenham Hotspur's match against Chelsea this lunchtime.

Andre Villas-Boas has selected Brad Friedel ahead of Hugo Lloris in goal for Tottenham Hotspur against Chelsea this afternoon.

Friedel's run of 310 consecutive Premier League appearances was ended by Villas-Boas when Aston Villa visited White Hart Lane earlier this month, but the American returns to the starting lineup today.

Gylfi Sigurdsson also gets a start ahead of Moussa Dembele in the playmaking role for the hosts.

League leaders Chelsea are without suspended skipper John Terry, meaning that David Luiz and Gary Cahill play at centre-back, with Petr Cech taking the armband.

Spurs: Friedel; Walker, Caulker, Gallas, Vertonghen; Sandro, Sigurdsson; Lennon, Dempsey, Bale; Defoe

Chelsea: Cech; Ivanovic, Luiz, Cahill, Cole; Ramires, Mikel; Hazard, Mata, Oscar; Torres
