Chelsea midfielder Cesc Fabregas: "Every game is a final for us"

Matchwinner Cesc Fabregas targets nine points from nine in order to overtake one of Tottenham Hotspur or Liverpool to finish fourth in the Premier League.

Cesc Fabregas had said that Chelsea are treating each of their remaining Premier League games as "a final" as they attempt to claim a top-four finish.

The Blues beat Swansea City 1-0 on Saturday evening to move to within two points of fourth-placed Tottenham Hotspur, who have a game in hand to play, while next opponents Liverpool are six points better off in third after playing a game more.

Spanish midfielder Fabregas scored the only goal of the game at the Liberty Stadium, curling the ball past Lukasz Fabianski with just four minutes on the clock to keep Chelsea's league campaign alive, but he admits that his side need to learn to become more clinical and kill off teams.

"We started well, created chances and had control of the game," he told BT Sport. "We were comfortable but the last five, 10 mins of the first half we struggled a bit and then came back into it. Same again in the second half.

"We know every game is a final for us. We have an opportunity to finish in the top four. We have to show our pride and that we really want to make it happen. The bad things is it's not up to us but we have to put the pressure on."

Fabregas is the fourth player to score 50+ goals and register 100+ assists in the Premier League, and the first non-British player to do so.
