Serie A champions AC Milan reportedly hold talks with representatives of Chelsea striker Armando Broja over a proposed transfer next summer.

Serie A champions AC Milan have reportedly held talks with representatives of Chelsea striker Armando Broja over a proposed transfer next summer.

The 20-year-old was handed his first senior start for the West Londoners in the goalless Premier League draw away at Brentford on Wednesday.

Broja has featured another 10 times off the substitutes' bench so far this season and he is currently in the first-team plans of new head coach Graham Potter.

The Albania international signed a new six-year contract with Chelsea at the beginning of September, committing his future to the club until the summer of 2028.

However, Broja continues to be linked with a potential exit from Stamford Bridge, and Calciomercato claims that AC Milan are exploring the possibility of luring the striker to San Siro.

The report adds that Rossoneri directors Paolo Maldini and Frederic Massara held a meeting with Cheikh Fall, an intermediary who has connections with Broja's agent, to discuss a potential deal to sign the youngster next summer.

Milan are believed to be on the lookout for long-term replacements for 41-year-old Zlatan Ibrahimovic and 36-year-old Olivier Giroud, who are both out of contract in June 2023.

The Rossoneri are also thought to be contemplating whether to part ways with summer signing Divock Origi in the New Year, as the Belgium international has failed to make an impression under head coach Stefano Pioli.

Origi, 27, joined Milan as a free agent in July after his contract at Liverpool expired, but he has since failed to score or provide an assist in eight substitute appearances across all competitions.

It make take some convincing for Milan to prise Broja away from Chelsea, who are regarded as "one of the biggest clubs in the world" by the academy graduate.

Speaking to Chelsea's official website after signing his new contract last month, Broja said: "I've been here since I was a boy so it's a surreal feeling for me and my family. To be able to put on the blue shirt with the first team is a dream come true.

"It's amazing every minute that you get to play on the pitch because this is one of the biggest clubs in the world.

"There's always competition and everyone wants to play so I'm just happy that I have the opportunity to be a part of it. Hopefully I get to play a lot of matches and be a part of the team's success."

Broja spent last season on loan at Southampton, where he scored nine goals in 38 appearances across all competitions.
