Cesc Fabregas 'nearing Monaco move'

Chelsea midfielder Cesc Fabregas is nearing a move to Ligue 1 outfit Monaco, according to a report.

Chelsea midfielder Cesc Fabregas is reportedly nearing a move to Ligue 1 outfit Monaco.

Fabregas, who joined Chelsea from Barcelona in the summer of 2014, made 49 appearances in all competitions for the Blues during the 2017-18 campaign.

The central midfielder has only started one Premier League this term, however, and his contract with the Blues will expire at the end of the season.

AC Milan have been strongly linked with the Spaniard, but according to Goal.com, Fabregas is nearing a move to Monaco, who are currently managed by the midfielder's former Arsenal teammate Thierry Henry.

Fabregas is now free to sign a pre-contract with Monaco ahead of a move at the end of the season, although the midfielder could move to the Ligue 1 club for a small transfer fee this month.

Monaco, who won Ligue 1 in 2017, are currently 19th in France's top flight.
