Chelsea and Liverpool are reportedly set to battle it out for Monaco midfielder Youssouf Fofana in the summer transfer window.
Fofana has become an established member of the Monaco squad since joining in 2020, as well as a regular France international in the past year.
Chelsea's co-sporting director Laurence Stewart knows Fofana's profile well having been at Monaco for over a year between 2021 and 2022.
Liverpool's search for midfield reinforcements has been well documented this season, but the Daily Mail claims that they will face stiff competition from Chelsea for Fofana.
With a bloated squad though, Chelsea are said to be looking to offload a number of players, especially in midfield, to make way for new signings.
Fofana has been near ever-present for Monaco this season, missing just two games via suspension, and he featured in six of France's seven games at the World Cup in Qatar.
