Marseille defender Cesar Azpilicueta insists that he is focused on staying in France this season despite interest from Chelsea.

Chelsea transfer target Cesar Azpilicueta has insisted that he is focused on playing for Marseille this season.

The Spanish full-back has been linked with a move to Chelsea for much of the summer but said that he is intent on helping Marseille improve on last season's miserable mid-table showing.

Azpilicueta said: "Everybody wants to show another face than last year. I really hope we will manage to change all that.

"What we saw last season in the league was not normal, we all want to change that as soon as possible."

Chelsea manager Roberto Di Matteo is desperate to recruit a new right-back, with Branislav Ivanovic and Paulo Ferreira their only current options following the release of Jose Bosingwa at the end of the season.
