Paulo Fonseca denies Nicolas Otamendi to Monaco deal is done

Paulo Fonseca says that there is no deal to take Nicolas Otamendi from Porto to AS Monaco in January.

Porto coach Paulo Fonseca has rubbished reports that Nicolas Otamendi is on the verge of a move to AS Monaco.

The two clubs were reported to have struck a £17.5m agreement for the 25-year-old Argentine, who is also believed to be of interest to Chelsea and Manchester City.

"On Otamendi there is nothing to report, except that I am counting on him and he is in the squad for our matches," talkSPORT quotes Fonseca as saying.

The centre-back arrived at Estadio do Dragao from Velez Sarsfield in 2010.
