John Obi Mikel may be forced to leave Chelsea due to Andre Villas-Boas's plan to rejuvenate the Blues side, according to reports.

Chelsea midfielder John Obi Mikel is believed to be considering his future at Stamford Bridge.

The 24-year-old may be forced to leave the former Premier League champions following suggestions that the Nigeria international was upset after being left out of the Blues' Champions League clash against Valencia, according to The Telegraph.

Andre Villas-Boas has been open about his desire to change the style of play at the London club, with reports claiming that up to six senior players could be sold.

It is believed that Oriol Romeu's emergence into Villas-Boas's starting XI could be a deciding factor if Mikel chooses to leave the club.
