Alan Pardew: 'We need to win our home games'

Crystal Palace boss Alan Pardew challenges his side to win "more than half" of their games at Selhurst Park this season.

Crystal Palace manager Alan Pardew has admitted that his team need to turn good performances into results when they play at Selhurst Park.

Last season, Palace won more games on their travels than they did in front of their own supporters, and their home campaign got off to a disappointing start last Sunday after they were edged out 2-1 by Arsenal.

However, Pardew was impressed with his team's display against the Gunners and he has challenged his side to win at least 10 games at Selhurst Park during the current campaign, starting against Aston Villa on Saturday.

The 54-year-old is quoted by BBC Sport as saying: "We need to win more than half our home games and I think we can do that this year.

"We lost to Arsenal; I was really pleased with the performance, but we need to turn that into a result at home."

Palace currently sit in seventh place in the Premier League table after the opening two games.
