Neil Warnock expects "emotional" return to Selhurst Park

Crystal Palace manager Neil Warnock admits that he is expecting to be "emotional" when he takes charge of his first home game since his return to the club.

Neil Warnock has revealed that he is expecting an "emotional" return when he takes charge of his first home game since being appointed as Crystal Palace manager.

Warnock was placed at the helm of the club for the second time last month following Tony Pulis's exit, but is yet to return to Selhurst Park because of the international break.

The 65-year-old told reporters at his pre-match press conference: "It is bound to be emotional. When I came back with QPR, I thought I would get a lot of stick but it was one of the most emotional days of my career. The positive reaction blew me away.

"I think a lot of the fans know how it was during administration. If we had sold any of our best players we would have been relegated and I was at loggerheads with the administrator.

"I now feel I have unfinished business and it will be nice to put something back in. At home decides whether you stay up or get in the top half. If we can perform on the pitch, everything will take care of itself because the fans are unbelievable."

Palace host Burnley tomorrow.
