Mick McCarthy eager to bring back Jonathan Williams next season

Mick McCarthy admits that he would love to bring Jonathan Williams back to Ipswich Town next season.

Ipswich Town manager Mick McCarthy has admitted that he would be eager to re-sign Jonathan Williams for next season.

Williams impressed for the club in the latter stages of the Championship campaign during a loan spell from Crystal Palace, and McCarthy admits that he is unsure whether Eagles manager Tony Pulis has plans to include the midfielder in his squad in the future.

"We all love him, we'd all love him back, but there will be others who would love to have him as well," the Ipswich boss told Green Un.

"That's just the way it is. There might be Premier League clubs that want to take him, Tony might want to have a look at him. Who knows?

"We'd take him back at the drop of a hat. We'd love to have him back, of course, but that's not my decision."

Williams appeared 11 times for Palace this season before joining Ipswich in February.
