Derby County head coach Steve McClaren has said that "it's good" to see the highest-placed Championship playoff teams in the final.
The Rams take on Queens Park Rangers on Saturday in the first third-versus-fourth playoff final since Hull City beat Bristol City in 2008.
Derby beat Brighton & Hove Albion 6-2 on aggregate while QPR came past Wigan 2-1 in extra time at Loftus Road to reach the Wembley final.
"It's good to see that ourselves and QPR, who finished third and fourth, have reached the final," Sky Sports News quotes the former England boss as saying.
"You could say we both deserve to be there and we'll see how the cards fall on Saturday."
McClaren began the campaign with QPR as a coach under Harry Redknapp before replacing Nigel Clough at Derby.
