Paco Alcacer's first-half strike was enough for Valencia to see off Eibar

Paco Alcacer's goal is enough to give Valencia their second straight win - a 1-0 victory at Eibar.

Valencia have moved into the top four of La Liga following a 1-0 win away at Eibar this evening.

The hosts started strongly and went close to taking the lead through Eneko Boveda and Federico Piovaccari, while Nicolas Otamendi went close for Valencia from a corner.

The visitors took the lead after 30 minutes when a fast break saw Pablo Piatti run through on goal and provide Paco Alcacer with a simple tap in from close range.

A sprawling save from Diego Alves preserved Valencia's lead until half time as he managed to scramble across to keep out a curling shot from Mikel Arruabarrena.

Alcacer went close to a second goal after the break when Alvaro Negredo flicked the ball on to him, but his first-time volley flew inches wide.

Negredo then went close himself with a header, but it was too central and saved by Eibar keeper Xabier.
