Preview: Estoril Praia vs. Boavista - prediction, team news, lineups

Sports Mole previews Sunday's Primeira Liga clash between Estoril Praia and Boavista, including predictions, team news and possible lineups.

Boavista will be attempting to continue their undefeated start to the Primeira Liga when they travel to Estoril Praia on Sunday.

The hosts currently sit twelfth in the table after winning only one of their opening three matches, leaving them with some catching up to do on the rest of the teams above.

Estoril Praia have had a tough start to the new campaign after two defeats and a victory, leaving the club in the bottom half of the table, and after being involved in a relegation battle last season the focus will be on pushing away from that situation as quickly as possible.

While they put together an impressive 2-0 victory against Rio Ave in the second game of the reason, the other two performances have left a lot to be desired.

However, even in the two games that Estoril Praia have lost the team have put up a fight, suffering a defeat by just a single goal in each match.

Alvaro Pacheco will have been left frustrated on the sidelines last weekend, though, as he saw his team suffer a 2-1 defeat against Estrela Amadora, despite Joao Marques getting on the scoresheet.

Estoril Praia almost managed to finish the game with a point, but they conceded in the 100th minute which left the team with nothing, which will require the team to focus until the last minute moving forward.

The visitors head into this match on the back of a strong start to the campaign as they are undefeated across their opening three matches of the campaign.

With two victories and a draw Boavista currently sit in fourth place, with another three points this weekend potentially taking them to the top of the Primeira Liga depending on other results.

Boavista have proven themselves to have fantastic attacking capabilities so far by scoring eight times already, with no team in the division having scored more.

However, Petit will want to see a little more from his team this weekend due to the fact they were held to a 1-1 draw at home during their previous outing.

While Boavista did showcase their fighting spirit by coming back from behind to draw courtesy of a Pedro Malheiro equaliser, but they now have the chance to get back to winning ways immediately.

Team News

Marques is set to continue in the lineup for the hosts following his impressive start to the campaign with two goals to his name, showcasing the attacking quality he provides from midfield.

Alejandro Marques dropped down to the bench in their most recent match but did feature as a substitute, and he will be attempting to displace Cassiano Dias Moreira.

For the visitors, Cesar remains injured until next year due to a cruciate ligament injury, but Joao Goncalves should keep his place in the team.

Outside of that Boavista could opt to keep the same starting lineup as they aim to continue their impressive run of form lately.

Estoril Praia possible starting lineup:
Figueira; Feltes, Vital, Mangala, Araujo; Pavlic, Holsgrove; Guitane, Marques, Gomes; Marques

Boavista possible starting lineup:
Goncalves; Malheiro, Awaziem, Ferreira, Onyemaechi; Perez, Makouta, Morais, Reisinho, Agra; Bozenik

We say: Estoril Praia 1-2 Boavista

Estoril Praia have had a difficult start to the season, but have proven to be competitive in every single match they have played, which is likely going to be the case again this weekend.

However, Boavista could end up having slightly too much for them here, particularly due to the confidence that has come from their undefeated start.
