Everton manager Roberto Martinez: 'Ross Barkley has a world-class future'

Everton boss Roberto Martinez praises Ross Barkley's "incredible development" ahead of the midfielder's 100th appearance for the club.

Everton manager Roberto Martinez has been full of praise for Ross Barkley ahead of the midfielder's 100th appearance for the Merseyside outfit.

The England international has become a prominent member of the Toffees' first team after bursting through the senior ranks a few years ago.

Martinez has admitted that he has been particularly impressed by the 21-year-old's performances this season.

"It's quite remarkable given his age and the bad injury he has had," Martinez told reporters in today's press conference. "In the last 20 games I have seen an incredible development in Ross's game.

"His performances this season have been really impressive. He knows exactly now what kind of player he is and he has a world-class future."

Barkley has scored two goals in six Premier League games this season.
