Roberto Martinez heaps praise on "sensational" Ross Barkley

Everton manager Roberto Martinez is full of praise for Ross Barkley after the midfielder's eye-catching goal against Newcastle United.

Roberto Martinez claimed that Ross Barkley has "sensational talent" after seeing the midfielder play a key role in Everton's 3-0 victory over Newcastle United on Tuesday night.

The Everton manager was eager to praise the 20-year-old, who broke the deadlock with an individual goal as the Toffees kept their Champions League hopes alive with a convincing performance at St James' Park.

"I think Ross has got that sensational talent," Martinez told Sky Sports News.

"You've seen that physicality; you don't get many players with that technical ability that can come with that physical element.

"He has both, to run across the whole pitch and score, it was a real joy to watch."

Everton are now just three points behind Arsenal with a game in hand.
